Open Offices -päivä 18.5.2017

Helin & Co Arkkitehdit osallistui toukokuiseen arkkitehtuuritapahtumaviikonloppuun Arkkitehtuurin tiedotuskeskuksen järjestämän Open Offices -tapahtuman puitteissa. Toimistomme ovet avautuivat vierailijoille ja vilkkaalle keskustelulle Kalasataman keskuksen projektista ja rakenteilla olevista asuintorneista. Helsinkiläisen suurhankkeen lisäksi vierailijoita kiinnosti erityisesti kokea toimistomme suunnitteluilmapiiri, jota luonnehdittiin rauhalliseksi. Kiitokset Arkkitehtuurin tiedotuskeskukselle tapahtuman järjestämisestä, olemme aina mielellämme mukana arkkitehtuuria ja kaupunkisuunnittelua koskevassa keskustelussa!

Colosseum of Rome

It would have been possible to construct a wooden Colosseum with modern, ecological wooden elements. This was the first of the "Plan B" cases, where MetsäWood, a Finnish forest industry company, explores the possibilities of wooden building products by studying famous iconic architecture. The imaginary task showed it to be both easily feasible, even cost-efficient with light, fire resistance and modular wooden long span elements. The project was done in co-operation with Metsä Goup´s structural engineer and the marketing agency Hasan & Partners.
